London:
McLellan Place

Welcome to the London and Area Bed and Breakfast Association!

London, the Forest City, a charming place to visit. A place that bustles, year round, with fun and festivities.

In 1793, Governor John Graves Simcoe imagined London as the future capital of Canada, but as events unfurled, no capital materialized. When the first settlers arrived in the 1820s, the site was named "the Forks", and later became known as London. Its ties to the English capital are evident today in the names of the city, its streets, its parks, and the Thames River.

London, now, is a busy hub of activity and boasts a bounty of parks and has become known as the Forest City, due to a century old program of planting hundreds of trees annually. Museums and galleries are plentiful, including a historic pioneer village, London Museum of Archaeology, Eldon House and the Regional Art Gallery, at the fork of the Thames.

The University of Western Ontario adds color and another dimension to our lovely city with students from all over the world. Our teaching hospitals make it another well known center for medical advancements, second to none.

Our newly rebuilt Covent Garden Market is only one of the many places to shop, eat, and visit. London boasts great malls, superb restaurants, and is a shopper's paradise. In the winter, enjoy skiing at Boler Mountain or at nearby Cobble Hills. The parks are alive with festivals during the warm summer months.

Our city is surrounded by pictureaque countryside and some of the best farmland in Canada. Since 1868, the Western Fair has become one of Canada's largest fairs. The Fairgrounds also house a major harness racing track and a 5000 seat, heated grandstand.

A vibrant, growing city, with cultural events, interesting attractions, double decker bus tours, scenic 'London Princess' boat tours on the Thames, Storybook Gardens, and much, much more.

A variety of interesting Bed and Breakfasts, situated in the city or nestled in our rural areas, offer comfortable and convenient accommodations for all. Come see us soon!
